So what do you know about computers, anyway? This is certainly a good question to ask before letting someone work on your computer. Although I do have two and a half years of Computer Science education from Louisiana State University - Shreveport, most of my knowledge comes from real world experience.
- I spent six months working for a computer company in Silicon Valley - San Jose, California. I worked in Web Design, new computer builds, and troubleshooting computer problems.
- I have attended computer conferences in San Jose, Sacramento, Pheonix, Las Vegas, Toronto, and Austin. At these events I learned more about computer technology, network theory, computer programming, and internet technologies.
- I competed nationally in the yearly programming contest of the Association of Computer Machinists.
- I wrote a database program, shopping cart, credit card processing program, and entry system for the retail site SoHoMax (new window) while in California.
- The past four years I have done both residential and business technical support involving hardware, software, internet, network, and printing issues.
- I spent three years as the Network Administrator for the Mills, Turansky, & Cox law firm (new window).
- I have handled technical support problems for several law firms, a J. Wesley Dowling real estate agent, Porter's Cleaners, Moreman Moore Insurance company, KBCL radio station, an auto repair center, and several others.
