When you call me, I will be happy to try to help you fix the problem over the phone. This will save you time and money because there is no charge for a computer issue that is resolved over the phone. There are a few stipulations regarding support calls. Any problem that I believe cannot be solved easily and within a reasonable time over the phone will require a service visit. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or resources to answer and help anyone with issues that can easily be resolved by restarting a computer or spending a few minutes attempting to figure a problem out.
So why do I offer free support calls? Although money from this work is what I survive on, I have no interest in taking advantage of anyone. If I can walk someone through a fix in a few minutes, it is unfair to charge them for an hour of service work. I also believe that the people I help with quick fixes will come back when they run into larger problems.
A payment of "thank you" is enough.
